There are many small-to-medium non-profits doing incredible work to improve the lives of girls and young women. We seek to identify those groups and determine if we can make a difference in their mission. We invest in those we feel would be the most successful partnerships.
Girls Inc. of Los Angeles
Strong. Smart. Bold. We couldn’t agree more with the vision that Girls Inc. has for our girls! Their powerful nationwide programs equip girls to defy limitations and reach their full potential. We are excited to partner with their Los Angeles chapter to host empowering events for girls on a local level, including a recent workshop that incorporated basketball with teamwork and leadership skills.

Women of color make up only 5% of the STEM workforce, but this innovative nonprofit is using the power of dance to inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists and techies. Their creative programs integrate dance and STEM through tech-infused dance performances, which equip girls of color with the skills, experience and confidence to pursue careers in STEM. Small actions spark big change, which is why we support grassroots, community-based nonprofits. Based in South Florida, Girls in Christ empowers local minority girls by developing their self-confidence, spiritual health and wellness, leadership skills and community involvement. We had the privilege of sponsoring their Back to School Bash, which supported underserved girls in their community with supplies, activities and resources to prepare for a successful school year.

As one of the only bilingual tech organizations in the U.S., Latinitas empowers ALL girls to innovate through media and technology. We are excited to partner with this impactful nonprofit, because they give girls in underserved communities the opportunity to explore and build their confidence with technology and digital media.

We want to see all girls succeed and be confident in their own skin, which is why we partnered with Confident S.O.L.E. They truly (S)trengthen (O)ur (L)adies in (E)xcellence by improving young girls’ perceptions of themselves. Through social-emotional learning programs for middle and high school girls, they build girls’ self-esteem, social skills, life skills and leadership skills.
Black Girls Film Camp
Every girl should have the chance to pursue her passion and tell her own story. We are honored to partner with Black Girls Film Camp, because they provide a safe space for teen girls to develop and direct their own short films centering on Black girlhood. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this next generation of female filmmakers!

Girls Make Beats
Being from Motown, I love good music! Girls Make Beats teaches girls 8-17 how to become DJ’s, music producers and sound engineers. They learn on industry leading hardware and software and also obtain internships at recording studios. So, gimme a BEAT, girls!

We had a very emotional and powerful discussion with an audience of young women on the campus of Texas Southern University about the dangers of human trafficking in the Houston area. We partnered with ‘Children at Risk’ because they strive to improve the quality of life for children through strategic research, public policy analysis, education, collaboration and advocacy. Women who have survived trafficking, prostitution and addiction deserve a second chance at life. And, that is exactly what Thistle Farms gives women. This two-year residential program provides housing, food, healthcare, therapy and education without charging residents. BeLoved Atlanta
Atlanta ranks as one of the cities with the highest income generated from the sex industry. Beloved Atlanta is a residential home and program for women affected by sexual exploitation. Red Carpet Correspondent
I have spent most of my career in front of the camera reporting from the biggest events in Hollywood. I thought it would be a wonderful idea to give a young girl the chance to have the same experience. Introducing the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls Red Carpet Correspondent! She is 10-year-old Stone Love Edwards and she has covered some exciting events including a Disney movie premiere! Though this initiative, Stone has learned how to be a good journalist, come up with smart questions and gain self-confidence!

SAVING INNOCENCE
We had an incredible Human Trafficking event in Los Angeles with our partner, Saving Innocence. Not only does this nonprofit work to prevent the exploitation of at-risk youth but, they also give after-care to victims and empower survivors to take control of their lives. Our initiative included an audience of girls and young women and was called, “The Empowered Girl: How NOT to be a Victim of Human Trafficking”. Sponsored by Ford Fund.
